Personnel Hygiene Sluices for Controlled Entry

A personnel hygiene sluice organizes PPE preparation, hand hygiene, sole or boot cleaning and controlled entry into one clear route before the clean zone.

Process logic

What makes up a personnel hygiene sluice?

Not every plant needs the same equipment sequence. The right sluice combines only the required processes in the order defined by site risk and personnel flow.

1. Personnel preparation

Hairnets, overshoes, masks and other PPE are organized before the controlled entry flow.

2. Hand hygiene

Touchless handwashing, hand disinfection or both are selected to match the facility requirement.

3. Sole and boot cleaning

A motorized brush, disinfectant footbath or separate boot washer is selected for the soil type.

4. Controlled entry

The turnstile manages entry to the clean zone after the required hygiene steps are completed.

Layout planning

Define the flow before selecting the model

01

Dirty-to-clean zoning

Entry direction, return route and the point where personnel access clean PPE are planned together.

02

Process and equipment order

The order of handwashing, disinfection, sole cleaning and turnstile control follows the site risk.

03

Space and personnel flow

Corridor width, entry direction, shift traffic and required functions are the core selection inputs.

Model Comparison

Which barrier ships with which equipment?

All models ship with an AISI 304 stainless body and a tripod turnstile; the difference is the hand- and sole-hygiene components added to the line.

Frequently asked questions

Planning a personnel hygiene sluice

Is a hygiene sluice the same as a hygiene station?

A hygiene sluice describes the complete controlled route into a clean zone. A hygiene station is the equipment that combines selected hand, sole and entry-control functions within that route.

Should the station use a brush or a footbath?

A motorized brush removes visible and organic soil; a footbath supports sole disinfection with the correct chemical and contact conditions. The site risk determines whether one or both are required.

What information is required to select a model?

Share the corridor dimensions, travel direction, shift headcount, required hand and sole processes, and the available water, drainage and electrical services.
